Adult Coaches (18+)

Step #1: USA Tackle Football Certification

The USA Football Youth Coach Course is an online training for tackle and flag coaches covering essential health and safety topics - such as concussion awareness, abuse prevention, heat preparedness, emergency action planning, and sudden cardiac arrest - along with foundational coaching techniques, athlete development, and age-appropriate drills. Coaches taking the Course for the first time will complete Level 1 Flag or Tackle modules, while returning coaches will be automatically assigned to take Level 2 Flag or Tackle modules. Coaches must complete all modules to be considered trained, and will then gain access to age-specific practice plans, playbooks, progression guides, and other resources. Coaches can access the course by following the steps below.

1) Create or Log in to USA Football account.
2) Associate with Organization:

  • Located at the top of your dashboard, select Organizations.
  • Review and update 'Your Organizations'
  • Unless already associated, under 'Find New Organizations', locate: San Ramon Valley Thunderbirds Football & Cheer - EBYFC
  • Next to the organization, select 'Associate'

3) Purchase Youth Coach Course: Go to USA Football Courses

  • Under "Youth Coach Course" click on "Learn More".
  • Click on "Buy Course".
  • Type in Promo Code: SVRTHUNDERBIRDS2026
  • This promo code will expire on 9/30/2026.

  • Click "Confirm & Purchase".
  • You will be taken back to the Courses homepage, where you will select "Claim Course" under Youth Coach Course-Tackle or Youth Coach Course-Flag (whichever you plan to complete).
  • Start Coursework.

Step #2: Live CPR Training

Live CPR certification is required to ensure all EBYFC coaches are trained for critical situations. We set up CPR training for any T-Bird coach that needs it for this upcoming season. The cost will be covered by T-Birds, you just have to sign up using this registration link with the access code: 1234.

EBYFC has gone away from allowing online only CPR training certification and must be in-person, this class will count as in-person training and will be good for two years. The class will consist of an online course, done at your convenience, which will not take more than 30-60 minutes.

Once that is completed you will schedule a time to into an office in San Ramon to complete the hands on portion of the class. This is all done via a mannequin and will be quick. All the instructions will be sent to you after you register. NSID for coaches must be complete prior to Jamboree (league-wide scrimmage in mid-August) and a valid CPR certification is required.

Step #3: Upload USA Tackle Football and CPR Certifications to National Sports ID (NSID)

You will need to join one of the links below as a Coach and be approved by our srvtbirds@gmail.com. Once you are approved to join the team by our T-Birds admin, you will then be allowed to upload your USA Tackle Football and CPR Certifications for the current season. Note: USA Tackle Football needs to be renewed every season. CPR needs to be renewed per your live certification expiration date.
