Preseason
Registration is open as of March 1st, 2026 at 10am PST. You can register here.
While we encourage all players to attend the Conditioning Camp, it is not mandatory to play for the season. However, it will give your athlete an opportunity to connect with their teams, coaches and get into shape. We will not have any tackling during these camps but we will be practicing football skills.
No, football equipment (e.g., helmets, pads) is not required to participate in the T-Bird Conditioning Camp. The T-Birds Camp is non-contact and teaches football fundamentals, conditioning rhythm, and core athletic skills.
Please have your player wear comfortable clothes they can run in. They will also need lots of water. The nearest water fountain is not close to the practice field so please have them come prepared. We will be playing on grass and cleats are preferred.
Please see Camp date, time, and location information on our Registration page.
T-Bird Day is the official start of our season for T-Bird Football & Cheer on July 11th, 2026. Attendance is mandatory as it is the day when the participants and parents will meet coaches, as well as the board.
Don’t forget your checkbook as deposits are required for the football gear and volunteer hours. We will also not distribute T-Birds gear without a $600 volunteer check and a $400 equipment check. Please ensure your athlete comes prepared with both of these checks. The checks will be filed and returned to you at the end of the season once the equipment is returned and the volunteer hours have been fulfilled. These checks will not be cashed prior to the end of the season.
T-Bird athletes must be present to receive equipment. We will not distribute helmets and shoulder pads without sizing an athlete for their gear. This is important for ensuring proper fit and for their safety. Finally, at the time of equipment distribution, your athlete much be National Sports ID-certified (NSID) to receive equipment. NSID certification must be renewed every season and your athlete will only receive equipment if they are certified.

If you are unable to attend T-Bird Day, we will not have a make-up day. T-Bird Football athletes will be able to pick up their gear on a first come, first serve basis on the night they first attend practice. Please know that we are not staffed to distribute equipment to every T-Bird athlete on each night of tryout practices, which is the reason we have T-Bird day as a central event to distribute equipment. Please have your athlete arrive by 5:30pm on the first night of practice they will attend.

Football Divisions
New in 2026, the East Bay Youth Football & Cheer (EBYFC) league will now operate with (2) divisions: D1 and D2. D1 will now represent the division formerly known as 'Competitive' or 'Premier'. D2 will now represent the division formerly known as 'Champion'.
Similar to every season, the T-Birds organization will field both D1 and D2 division teams based on the number of available athletes and coaches. See the Football page for information on the wider EBYFC team locations.
We are proud to offer T-Bird D2 teams in the EBYFC's league. D2 is designed for newer players to the game of football. It teaches the basics and fundamentals of the game, this program provides each player more time on the field. Our D2 teams will have the same practice schedule and number of games as our D1 teams. We have many leagues that participate in this program and due to the high demand of field space in our area, most of our developmental games (if not all) will be played at away locations and not at Monte Vista High School.
Yes. Unlike previous Development program minimum play rules in 2024 (X plays on Offense; X plays on defense), D2 teams will have the same minimum play rules as Premiere (X number of plays total). This allows league teams to fill more D2 team rosters because fulfilling a flat number of total plays per game makes it easier for each D2 coach to balance player rotations.
Cheer
The season begins for our game day cheerleaders on the week of August 3rd for mandatory Cheer camp. The start of mandatory practices will start the following week of August 10th. Division I will practice on Wednesdays (starting August 12th). Division II will practice on Tuesdays (starting August 11th).
Mandatory Cheer Camp details will be shared closer to the start of the 2026 season. The Cheer Skill & Route camp dates will be August 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th from 9am - 3pm each day.
Season
We receive this question every season. Please plan your Summer vacations around the T-Bird Football & Cheer season. In 2026, we explicitly moved the start of Cheer Camps & practices to later in the Summer to accommodate family schedules. Football still starts at the same time in July to align with the EBYFC Football required start of practices.
Football: The first three weeks of tryouts are critical to your athlete's success, and attendance at every practice is expected. Due to the high demand for our football program, roster spots are competitive and a limited number of cuts are necessary each season. Every practice matters during Summer tryouts, and your athlete's attendance will directly impact their placement on a specific T-Birds team. Please see our Athlete Safety guidance for more information about Practice expectations. If your athlete misses a practice in these first three weeks of tryouts, there will not be a make-up.
During the first full week of practice, Football athletes will be in helmets, practice jerseys, shorts, and cleats. They are required to wear mouthpieces. There is zero contact allowed, with a primary focus on skills and conditioning. All players must complete a minimum of 10 hours of practice (5 practices) in helmets before being certified for full pads in Week 2. If they miss a practice, there is not a make-up day. They must complete 5 practices in helmets before being eligible for full pads.
Cheer: Your Cheer athlete is required to attend the mandatory Cheer Skill & Routine Camps running from August 3rd to August 6th to be eligible to participate in the 2026 season. Please see our Athlete Safety guidance for more information about Practice expectations.
We have our T-Bird Day on Saturday, July 11th. Football practices will begin on Monday, July 13th, 2026 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Monte Vista High School.
Starting Monday, July 13th, 2026 - practices will be held five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
While we understand that this is in the summer and might conflict with some of your plans, please do your best to have your athlete attend every practice for the first three weeks. We are mandated to have 10 hours of conditioning for each player before they are allowed to wear pads and this is the time period for coaches to evaluate and identify who will play on which teams.
After our Jamboree, currently scheduled for mid-August, practices will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm and games on Saturdays until the end of the season (there may also be Sundays depending on field availability).
Parents are required to purchase Integrated practice pants with full hip, tail, bone, thigh & knee pads (available online or at most sporting goods stores), mouthpieces (you will want to purchase several), and football cleats (no screw-in cleats allowed, must be molded cleats).
T-Birds will provide each participant with the following equipment: Practice jersey, protective gear (including helmet, and shoulder pads), game day pants, socks, equipment bag and jerseys for home & away games.
Games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays. Times and locations will be announced as the season gets closer. Typically Jr. Pee Wee will play at 9:00am, Pee Wee will play at 11:00am, Jr. Varsity will play at 1:00pm and Varsity will play at 3:00pm. These times can and will vary week to week depending on field availability. Coaches & Team Parents will announce game times each week.
Game Schedule
We expect to know the T-Birds Game schedule by June 2026. In the meantime, please refer to the Season Calendar referencing Jamboree weekend starting on August 15th - 16th and Game Day weekends starting on weekend of August 22nd - 23rd. Thank you for your patience.
In 2025, we hosted (4) D1 Home Game Days and (5) D2 Home Game Days. We cannot guarantee a specific amount of Home or Away games. Home games at Monte Vista depend heavily on field availability and partnering with the High School to minimize conflicts with other high school programs. Hosting Home games also heavily depends on our T-Bird Community to fill volunteer roles. Last season, we were fortunate to host (9) Home Game Days at Monte Vista.
Unfortunately, no. We understand that every weekend day is precious for each T-Bird family. We partner closely with Monte Vista, SRVUSD, and the EBYFC to maximize Saturday game days where possible. Because of our large organizational footprint, T-Birds can and will play D1 or D2 games on Saturdays OR Sundays in a given weekend.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on volunteers! No job is too small and we need all hands on deck to make this a great season for our athletes. Please reach out to srvtbirds@gmail.com and let us know what you would like to help with.
