  • 🏈 T-BIRDS: WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for more players (ages 6-8) for our T-Birds Jr. Pee Wee team and need your help to spreading the word. Our Jr. Pee Wee Cheer athletes are fired up for the season and we want to build a strong football team for them. 📝 T-Bird Day Logistics

Time Slots
Football (Monte Vista Practice Fields)

  • Varsity: 10am - 11:30am
  • JV: 11:30am - 1:00pm
  • Pee Wee: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
  • Jr. Pee Wee: 2:30pm - 3pm

Cheer (Monte Vista Commons)

  • Jr. Pee Wee and Varsity: 10am - 11am
  • Pee Wee and JV: 11:30am - 12:30pm

Athlete Requirements

  1. ✅ Green Checkmark Verified in National Sports ID (NSID). Please do not bring physical documents to show as NSID is all digital. Please note: We will not be able to troubleshoot NSID issues during T-Bird Day. If you received a NSID reminder email this past week, you need to take action. Please confirm you joined your athlete's NSID team per Certification instructions. We will not distribute Football equipment or Cheer uniforms to athletes who are not NSID-verified.
  2. ✅ $600 Volunteer Check (All families). If you plan to complete volunteer hours this season, the check must be post-dated 11/1/2025. This check will be returned at the end of the season when you complete your 12 Volunteer Hours. If you selected 'Opt out' of volunteer hours during registration, you will date the check 7/12/2025.
  3. ✅ $400 Equipment Check (Football only). The check must be post-dated 11/1/2025 and will be returned at the end of the season when you return your helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey, and equipment bag.
  4. Missing T-Bird Day? You will be able to get your athlete's equipment and turn in checks before practices the week of 7/14 (5pm-5:30pm nightly). Note: Expect wait time, please plan accordingly.

Football

  • Location: Monte Vista Practice Fields
  • Weigh-in: All Football athletes will be weighed in during T-Bird Day and must be present. This is required before our first practice.
  • Older/Lighter Eligibility: We will check which athletes qualify for Older/Lighter weight eligibility. Pee Wee O/L: 11 years old <= 85 lbs. JV (6th/7th graders): 13 years old <= 115 lbs. JV O/L (8th graders): 13 years old <= 105 lbs. Full guidelines
  • Practice Jerseys and Muscle Shirts: We will distribute T-Bird Practice Jerseys and underneath muscle shirts. First week of practice will be helmets, practice jersey, shorts, cleats, and underneath muscle shirt. No shoulder pads; No pad pants.
  • Helmets & Shoulder Pads: Coaches will be present to help athletes with helmet and shoulder pad fit. If you are using your own helmet this season, you MUST bring it to T-Bird Day so we can certify it. Helmets will generally feel tight on first fit. We recommend athletes wear them around the house and neighborhood after T-Bird Day.

Cheer

  • Location: Monte Vista Commons
  • Uniform Fitting: We will have a private area at our Monte Vista Commons practice location so that Cheer athletes can try on their uniforms during T-Bird Day. We will not issue Cheer uniforms without NSID verification or $600 Volunteer checks.
  • Questions: T-Bird Cheer Coaches will be present during their team's dedicated pick-up slot to answer any questions about the 2025 season. We also have our full season schedule (game opponents, dates, and times will be finalized in July / August.

Similar to last Summer, our friends at Monte Vista Football are hosting a one-day Football Skills camp. We are proud to announce that the registration cost for the Monte Vista Mustang Youth Football Camp will be covered by T-Birds for athletes who are currently registered for the 2025 T-Birds Football Season! The skills camp will be hosted at the Monte Vista Stadium Football Field and it will run from 10am-1pm. Please have your athlete bring a positive attitude, lots of water, cleats, athletic shorts, and shirt. This offer is only valid for current 2025 T-Bird Season registrants. Siblings, friends, former players, etc. who are not registered for the 2025 T-Birds Football Season are not eligible for this offer and must pay for the event.

☀️ Saturday, July 12th
T-Bird Day: Football & Cheer
Location: Monte Vista High School

National Sports ID (NSID) verification must be complete and in a ✅ verified state, expiring in 2026, before picking up equipment, practice jersey, or other gear during T-Bird Day. Also, no equipment will be issued without a volunteer check. No exceptions. T-Bird Football & Cheer Day is the official start of our season on July 12th, 2025. Attendance is mandatory as it is the day when the participants and parents will meet coaches, as well as the board. The event will be held at Monte Vista High School.

Don’t forget your checkbook as deposits are required for the football gear and volunteer hours. The checks will be filed and returned to you at the end of the season once the equipment is returned and the volunteer hours have been fulfilled. These checks will not be cashed prior to the end of the season, unless you selected 'Opt Out of Volunteer Hours' during registration. All families must provide volunteer (Football & Cheer) and equipment (Football) checks during T-Bird Day. 

🏈 Monday, July 14th - Friday, July 18th (6pm - 8pm)
T-Birds Football: First Week of Practice
Location: Monte Vista Practice Fields

During the first week of practice, T-Bird Football athletes will be in helmets, practice jerseys (t-shirt underneath), shorts, and football cleats. No lower pads or pad pants should be worn during the first week of practice. All athletes must complete a league-mandated 10 hours (5 practices x 2 hours per night) of conditioning in helmets. If your T-Bird athlete misses a practice in their first week, they will need to make up those hours at the next practice before they move to full pads. T-Bird athletes must have a tethered mouthpiece for their helmet and bring one gallon of water to hydrate. 

📣 Tuesday, July 15th (6pm - 8pm)
First Day of T-Birds Premier Cheer Practice
Location: Monte Vista Commons (Near School Cafeteria)

This will be the first practice for the Premier Cheer divisions (2x practice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays). More details to follow from your Cheer Coaches in the coming weeks.

📣 Wednesday, July 16th (6pm - 8pm)
First Day of T-Birds Champion Cheer Practice
Location: Monte Vista Commons (Near School Cafeteria)

This will be the first practice for the Champion Cheer divisions (1x practice per week on Wednesdays). More details to follow from your Cheer Coaches in the coming weeks.

📣 Thursday, July 17th (6pm - 8pm)
Second Day of T-Birds Premier Cheer Practice
Location: Monte Vista Commons (Near School Cafeteria)

This will be the second practice for the Premier Cheer divisions (2x practice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays). More details to follow from your Cheer Coaches in the coming weeks.
