🚨 All T-Birds Football registration will close on Tuesday, June 30th. We do not expect to make additional JV Football waitlist activations beyond this point. All JV Football waitlist players who were activated, were notified via email in the last week.

We are one month away from the start of the 2026 T-Birds Football & Cheer Season! We wanted to extend a warm welcome to all the new T-Bird families who already signed up for the 2026 Football & Cheer season. We are truly excited for you to join the T-Bird family and FLY HIGH with us this season. Please find all past T-Bird newsletters on the News section of our website. 


🗓️ T-Birds Day Logistics
All T-Birds Must Attend

🚨 T-Birds Day on Saturday, July 11th is mandatory for all Football & Cheer athletes. If your athlete cannot make T-Birds Day, it is your responsibility to find a proxy to pick up your athlete's equipment, and turn in their equipment and volunteer checks. Your athlete must also be National Sports ID-certified to receive equipment. We will not distribute equipment during the first week of T-Birds Football practice. Doing so has created a large strain for coaches and volunteers in past years. In 2026, all equipment distribution will be done at T-Birds Day.

Time Slots

Football

  • Varsity: 10am - 11:30am
  • JV: 11:30am - 1:00pm
  • Pee Wee: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
  • Jr. Pee Wee: 2:30pm - 3pm

Cheer

  • Jr. Pee Wee and Varsity: 10am - 11am
  • Pee Wee and JV: 11:30am - 12:30pm


Athlete Requirements

  1. ✅ Green Checkmark Verified in National Sports ID (NSID). Please do not bring physical documents to show as NSID is all digital. Please note: We will not be able to troubleshoot NSID issues during T-Bird Day. Please confirm you joined your athlete's NSID team per Certification instructions. We will not distribute Football equipment or Cheer uniforms to athletes who are not NSID-verified.
  2. ✅ $600 Volunteer Check (All families). If you plan to complete volunteer hours this season, the check must be post-dated 11/1/2026. This check will be returned at the end of the season when you complete your 12 Volunteer Hours. If you selected 'Opt out' of volunteer hours during registration, you will date the check 7/11/2026.
  3. ✅ $400 Equipment Check (Football only). The check must be post-dated 11/1/2026 and will be returned at the end of the season when you return your helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey, and equipment bag.

Football

  • Location: Monte Vista Practice Fields
  • Weigh-in: All Football athletes will be weighed in during T-Bird Day. This is required before our first practice.
  • Older/Lighter Eligibility: We will check which athletes qualify for Older/Lighter weight eligibility. Pee Wee O/L: 11 years old <= 90 lbs. JV <= 110 lbs. We will not entertain Older/Lighter eligibility for athletes who are too close to the weight limits as athletes must sustain this weight for duration of the season.   • Practice Jerseys and Muscle Shirts: We will distribute T-Bird Practice Jerseys and underneath muscle shirts. First week of practice will be helmets, practice jersey, shorts, cleats, and underneath muscle shirt. No shoulder pads; No pad pants.
  • Helmets & Shoulder Pads: Coaches will be present to help athletes with helmet and shoulder pad fit. If you are using your own helmet this season, you MUST bring it to T-Bird Day so we can certify it. Helmets will generally feel tight on first fit. We recommend athletes wear them around the house and neighborhood after T-Bird Day.

Cheer

  • Location: Monte Vista Commons
  • Uniform Fitting: We will have a private area at our Monte Vista Commons practice location so that Cheer athletes can try on their uniforms during T-Bird Day. 
  • Questions: T-Bird Cheer Coaches will be present during their team's dedicated pick-up slot to answer any questions about the 2026 season.

National Sports ID (NSID) Certification deadline

If your T-Bird athlete is not NSID-certified by June 30th (i.e., ✅ Green Checkmark appears by their name on the NSID website), they will not be issued equipment during T-Birds Day (July 11th) and cannot practice. You need to complete NSID verification every season inclusive of new medical physicals, school documents, and birth certificate. Direct all NSID questions to NSID's Live Chat. T-Birds does not manage this process. Do not wait to complete this.

Each year, T-Birds Cheer proudly performs during the Danville 4th of July parade. It's a moment where our T-Bird kids can have fun, pass out candy to parade watchers, and perform alongside their friends. This even is targeted for Pee Wee, JV, and Varsity age levels.

Below is a rough timeline for the 2026 Preseason activities. Expect dates and times to continue to evolve with field availability. Our T-Birds safety, practice, and participation policy is available here.

T-Bird Games will be played on Saturday OR Sunday every weekend from mid-August to early November. Please plan for either day each weekend as game times and field availability are subject to change.
