📰 Quick Shoutouts

  • Parking / Drop-offs: 🚫 Please continue to pick up / drop off in the main Monte Vista parking lot. DO NOT pick up, drop off, or park in the upper Monte Vista Teachers lot by the classroom trailers. Please also DO NOT drive down the pathway to the Monte Vista Football Stadium. This is a pathway for our T-Bird athletes and Monte Vista athletes to walk on.
  • Cheer families: Our T-Bird Cheer athletes flew HIGH at Cheer Camp last week! We want to send a HUGE thank you to California Spirit Elite in Dublin for hosting our athletes last week.
  • Football parents: This past week, you should have also received an invite to your athlete's TeamSnap team. If you didn't, please reach out to your Coach as all day-to-day team communication will route through TeamSnap from your Team Parent and Head Coach.
  • Volunteers: Please continue to sign up for POINT volunteer slots. We plan to post volunteer roles in the next week for our first Premier Home game on August 23rd. Champion volunteer roles will be posted once our Week 1 schedule is known.

EBYFC Jamboree

It's the EBYFC Jamboree this Saturday, August 16th! All T-Bird Premier and Champion Teams will be playing in Livermore at Robertson Park. The EBYFC Jamboree is a one-day event in mid-August where teams across the EBYFC Association compete in a rapid-fire scrimmage. T-Birds Cheer will not be present at the Jamboree.

  • Format: Each T-Birds team will play three 20-minute mini-games. Each side gets 8 minutes of running clock offense, a 4-minute break, and 8 minutes of running clock defense.
  • Constraints: There are no timeouts and no Special Teams (punts, kickoffs, returns) at the Jamboree. The intent is to get as many plays in as possible.
  • Expectations: In past Jamborees, teams typically executed between 8-12 plays on offense, depending on play-calling speed.
  • Equipment: All teams will wear their practice jerseys and integrated pants (no game jerseys or game pants). 



 

📣 Cheer: What to Know (Week of 8/11)

Thank you for coming out to Cheer Camp last week!

Practice schedule @ Monte Vista Commons is also ON as normal:

  • Premier Cheer: Tuesday, 8/12 and Thursday, 8/14 (6pm - 8pm). 8/12 will be a Monte Vista High School event, and Cheer will move to the grass area near the MV Commons.
  • Champion Cheer: Wednesday, 8/13 (6pm - 8pm)
  • What to Wear: Please wear tennis shoes, athletic shorts, tank/shirt, hair in a high ponytail, and water to every practice.

🏈 Start of Three Nights a Week practice: Monday, August 18th

Week of August 18th will have the Pep Rally on August 20th, which means Football practice will be held on 8/18, 8/19, and 8/21 this week.

🏈 Los Cerros Middle School Back to School Night: Thursday, August 21st

No Parking at Los Cerros Middle School. All Football practices will be held at Monte Vista High School practice fields. Team field and location maps will be shared week of 8/18.

🏈📣 Monte Vista High School Back to School Night: Wednesday, August 27th

No Football or Cheer practice on 8/27. Week of August 25th will have Football practices on 8/25, 8/26, and 8/28.

🏈📣 Normal Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday practices through end of Season

After the first two weeks of Los Cerros Middle School and Monte Vista High School Back to School and Pep Rally, we will return to our normal Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nightly schedule through early November (end of season).


Note: Dates / Locations / Times are all subject to change. Champion team schedules will be assembled week-to-week. Please see earmarked dates below to plan (minus location and time). Each team will play at most once per weekend on a Saturday or Sunday.
