Overview
Each year, the San Ramon Valley Thunderbirds (T-Birds) are proud to offer a fixed amount of Financial Aid Scholarships to families and athletes who need it. The Scholarships are not guaranteed year-to-year and are dependent on the organization's season.
These Scholarships will cover $400 each, which is 50% of the total T-Birds Registration cost ($400 Tryout Fee + $400 Registration Cost).

- Must have made a T-Bird team by early August (i.e. Scholarship will cover the Registration cost charged after final teams are made).

FAQs
Our Scholarship program is designed to ensure that all children have the opportunity to participate in youth football and cheer, regardless of their family’s financial situation. We aim to reduce financial barriers and make the sport accessible to as many players as possible.
Scholarships are available to families who demonstrate financial need. Eligibility is determined through an application process, which includes a written explanation of financial hardship.
Unfortunately, T-Bird Scholarships are not guaranteed. We strive to help as many families as possible, but funds are limited, and not all applicants may receive assistance.
Scholarship Athletes are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the T-Birds Board. Awards are based on a combination of financial need, availability of funds, and the number of applicants. Our T-Birds Board reviews all applications confidentially to ensure fairness and consistency. If there are more applicants than we have scholarships, we will use a lottery system.
To participate in the season, you will need to pay the remaining Registration amount after your athlete makes a T-Bird team when final teams are formed (early August).
Unfortunately, no. To maintain an equitable process, we require that all T-Bird families pay the Tryout fee before applying for the T-Bird Scholarship program.
Unfortunately, no. We cannot support more than a 50% Scholarship. We are aiming to support as many T-Bird families as possible and can only offer a fixed number of Scholarships.
Unfortunately, no. Since we have a fixed number of T-Bird Scholarships, we request that all families complete Scholarship applications by the above deadline. This maintains a fair environment for families who completed the process on time.
Please email srvtbirds@gmail.com if you are interested in donating to or sponsoring the T-Bird Scholarship Program. We also offer an option during our athlete registration process to donate to the T-Bird Scholarship program. Thank you for your support of our amazing athletes!
